So my first attempt to toy around with watercolour was pretty much a failure, but I figured I'd throw it up here anyway. I'm hoping to find harmony with pencil crayons along with the watercolour, but I guess first I had to learn the hard way that highlighting with a considerably lighter pencil does not work well. Practice practice practice, I'll make something beautiful with it eventually. And yes, I suppose it could have been a lot worse ;P Art © Moi

I have an affinity for boars (and their feral cousins) and was struck the other day by the idea of a hippocampus-type boar creature. This is the end result of that, a red river hog/koi mix.

A dragon dance through Chinatown, celebrating the Chinese New Year. Acrylic paints on 20"x30"illustration board - the original painting will be at the Further Confusion 2008 art show. This painting took approximately 120 hours to complete. All of the characters depicted are my own original characters - several of them are recurring characters thoughout my artwork - including Cirrus the eastern blue dragoness, Candi the red panda, Antarctica the blue vixen, Echo the genet, Vienna the arctic roo, Kristania(Misty)the ringtail cat, and Ace the black jackal. This is a fictional Chinatown - the building designs are my own creation - the gateway was inspired by the Chinatown gateway in London, however, and the entire piece was inspired by visiting San Francisco's Chinatown.

Leopard Shapeshifter for the BITN Portfolio by Synnabar

This a slightly different version of the leopard shapeshifter I did for Kyoht's very cool Bump in the Night portfolio. It's pencil, with the border created in Illustrator, and colored in Photoshop. His ornamentation is inspired by African jewelry and fabric patterns, though it's not based on any actual pieces; I designed them myself.
